The longest indoor freefall Guinness World Record has been jointly achieved by two adventurers from Russia, Viktor Kozlov and Sergey Dmitriyev, in the city of Perm on Tuesday, 10 July 2018. The record took place at the innovative FreeFly Technology wind tunnel Wind Zone. The skydivers flew uninterrupted for 8 hours, 33 minutes and 43 seconds to beat the record of indoor freefall set before. The result was made official by a representative of the Guinness World Records Association.
Each minute of indoor body-flying is the equivalent of one skydive, and the whole 513 minutes is the same as falling 1280 miles continuously or the distance from New York to Cuba. The final moments of this unprecedented record has been captured in the following short video.
The performance has been officially confirmed by The Guinness World Records. The previous records were:
- 7 hrs 15 min 13 sec at Windoor (Spain) by Stef Millet and Manu Sarazin
- 7 hrs 00 min 05 sec at inFlight (UAE) by Matt Munting and Hind Salih
